World Soil Day was celebrated on 5th December, 2022 by joining program being conducted at ICAR-CCARI, Goa through virtual mode. The theme of World Soil Day for the year 2022 is Soils: Where food begins. The program was attended by Shri Shripad Yesso Naik, Ministry of Tourism and Port, Shipping and Waterways, Government of India as Chief Guest. Dr. Himanshu Pathak, Secretary,(DARE) Director General (ICAR) joined the program virtually. Dr. Suresh Kumar Chaudhari, Deputy Director General (Natural Resource Management), ICAR, New Delhi was Guest of Honour and Dr. Parveen Kumar, Director, ICAR-CCARI was also present on the occasion. Addressing the farmers and scientists of ICAR, Hon’ble Minister and the chief guest stressed the importance of soil, referred it as our mother, and explained how soil health and human health are intricately related. After the inauguration of program at ICAR-CCARI, Goa, Dr. Himanshu Pathak, Secretary (DARE), Director General (ICAR) gave a brief presentation on the topic exhorting all the scientists to join hands for restoring soil health that is imperative for health of human, plants and planet. ICAR-CISH also celebrated World Soil Day at Kaakrabad village of Lucknow, U.P. Dr. Dushyant Mishra, Dr. Tarun Adak, Dr. Vishambhar Dayal and Dr. N. Samarendra Singh actively participated in the programme. More than forty farmers from in and around village participated in the programme enthusiastically. Soil health management in food production systems was focused during the discussion during farmer-scientist interactions. Incorporation of vermicompost, microbial consortia like CISH-Bioenhancer were recommended to the growers to enhance soil biological properties. Farmers were encouraged for organic cultivation of vegetables and fruits and sensitized about adverse effects of increasing pesticide load on microbial community in soil. Soil health and food security issues were also discussed. Literature of zinc and boron management in guava cultivation was distributed among the farming community. The celebration was concluded with vote of thanks to all the participants.

भारतीय कृषि अनुसंधान परिषद कें सभी संस्थानो ने आईसीएआर सीसीएआरआई, गोवा वर्चुअल माध्यम से आयोजित किए जा रहे कार्यक्रम में शामिल होकर 5 दिसंबर, 2022 को विश्व मृदा दिवस मनाया गया। वर्ष 2022 के लिए विश्व मृदा दिवस का विषय मृदा जहां भोजन शुरू होता है। इस कार्यक्रम में मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में श्री श्रीपाद येसो नाइक, पर्यटन मंत्रालय और बंदरगाह, नौवहन और जलमार्ग, भारत सरकार,सचिव (डीएआरई) और महानिदेशक (आईसीएआर) डॉ. हिमांशु पाठक, डॉ. सुरेश कुमार चौधरी, उप महानिदेशक (प्राकृतिक संसाधन प्रबंधन), आईसीएआर, और डॉ. परवीन कुमार, निदेशक, आईसीएआर-सीसीएआरआई वर्चुअली कार्यक्रम में शामिल हुए। इस अवसर पर माननीय मंत्री जी ने मिट्टी के महत्व पर प्रकाश डाला और मिट्टी को हमारी मां के रूप में संदर्भित किया और बताया कि कैसे मिट्टी के स्वास्थ्य और मानव स्वास्थ्य का आपस में गहरा संबंध है। आईसीएआर-सीसीएआरआई, गोवा में कार्यक्रम के उद्घाटन के बाद, डॉ. हिमांशु पाठक, सचिव (डीएआरई) और महानिदेशक (आईसीएआर) ने इस विषय पर एक संक्षिप्त प्रस्तुति दी, जिसमें सभी वैज्ञानिकों से मिट्टी के स्वास्थ्य को बहाल करने के लिए हाथ मिलाने का आह्वान किया गया, जो मानव स्वास्थ्य के लिए, पौधों और ग्रह के लिए अनिवार्य है। इस अवसर पर केंद्रीय उपोष्ण बागवानी संस्थान ने भी लखनऊ काकराबाद गांव में भी विश्व मृदा दिवस भी मनाया। इस कार्यक्रम में संस्थान के वैज्ञानिको ने सक्रिय रूप से योगदान दिया। और ग्रामीण क्षेत्र के चालीस किसानों ने उत्साहपूर्वक कार्यक्रम में हिस्सा लिया किसानो से बातचीत और चर्चा के दौरान खाद्य उत्पादन प्रणालियों में मृदा स्वास्थ्य प्रबंधन पर ध्यान केंद्रित किया गया। मिट्टी के जैविक गुणों को बढ़ाने के लिए उत्पादकों को वर्मीकम्पोस्ट, माइक्रोबियल कंसोर्टिया जैसे CISH-bioenhancer को शामिल करने हेतु प्रेरित किया गया। किसानों को सब्जियों और फलों की जैविक खेती के लिए प्रोत्साहित किया गया और मिट्टी में सूक्ष्मजीवो पर कीटनाशको के प्रतिकूल प्रभावों के बारे में जागरूक किया गया। साथ ही साथ मृदा स्वास्थ्य और खाद्य सुरक्षा के मुद्दों पर भी चर्चा की गई। अमरूद की खेती में जिंक और बोरॉन प्रबंधन का हिंदी में साहित्य कृषक समुदाय के बीच वितरित किया गया। समारोह का समापन सभी प्रतिभागियों को धन्यवाद ज्ञापन के साथ किया गया।
